I remember growing up in the 90’s it was a fun and cool time, especially in music. I would listen to different genres of R&B and pop. One of my favorite artists was no other than the talented Aaliyah. I remember those out the years when she came out with hits like One in a million, are you that somebody, try again, and We need a resolution. I would always watch her music videos and copy her dancing skills and style.

Who was Aaliyah?

After doing some research on her favorite beauty products, I founded out that what was one of her favorite lipsticks. It said Aaliyah was known to wear MAC's "Paramount" lipstick. This lipstick retails for $25.00 (Full size) and $16.00 for a mini. Which is a bit pricey. I have mine in a mini which I prefer than to commit to a full size. This lipstick has been recently reformulated to a sleek satin finish which provides more hydrating and more comfortable on the lips. The mac website also states it gives full pigment and 8-hour wear time.

 

From the tube the color looks like a deep warm brown with a hue of mahogany. It appeared much darker on the lips than the swatch on my hand. I can defiantly see why the shade so popular in in the 90’s due to its depth of this this gorgeous brown.

 The application applied smoothly and didn’t drag on the lips. This lipstick strikes a perfect balance between matte and glossy finishes, offering a creamy texture that glides smoothly onto the lips without feeling too heavy or too dry. The color did fade quite a bit after eating and drinking and left a stain on the lips

 

In conclusion, Paramount is a beautiful, unique and classic shade I now can understand why Aaliyah loved this lipstick.it truly give a touch of 90’s vibe. I personally wouldn’t reach for this every day, for me this is more like a night out color and a perfect autumn color. But hey, give it a try! And get touch with the 90’s trend.
